About us

Testing Low vision equipment In the DCAB shop Based at Station House in Topsham near Exeter, Devon County Association for the blind provides help and advice for anyone in Devon with a visual impairment. Run by Sue, Rod and Pat, the Association was first established as a charity in 1925 and moved to Station House in 1997. The Association has moved on considerably since the early days of teaching blind people to make baskets and knit socks at home.

The Devon County Association for the Blind is an independent charity for the people of Devon.

Visitors do not need to be registered as either blind or partially sighted in order to benefit from services.

Station House depends entirely on voluntary donations and legacies and receives no statutory help whatsoever.
